For the first in a series of Ask a Scientist events at Taking Action, meet Gisela Winckler of Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the Co-Chief Scientist of a major international expedition to study 5 million years of climate data captured in layers of deep sea sediments. The ship just passed over the point in the Earth’s oceans farthest from land, Point Nemo.
