Breaking the Climate Silence

  • The Climate Museum 105 Wooster Street New York, NY, 10012 United States (map)

Climate Museum Senior Advisor Darian Dauchan led two very special programs in November. The Museum has been lucky to collaborate with Darian, an extraordinary artist, entertainer, and activist, on youth and public programs since 2019. As a workshop leader, Darian draws on techniques rooted in his deep background in theater, music, and writing. Many elements from those worlds, delivered with humor and high energy, were present at both this program and the one on November 17. You can find more about Darian's artistic work as an actor, writer, and musician at dariandauchan.com and brobotjohnson.com.

There is a bipartisan supermajority in the U.S. for climate action and climate justice—but we don’t know it. That’s because many of us are locked in a climate silence. Darian led a participatory workshop that helped climate newcomers and activists alike feel readier to lean into their own agency and break the climate silence—through games, discussion, and collective action. Refreshments were served.
