FALSE SOLUTIONS

The fossil fuel industry uses a range of tactics in its attempt to block climate progress. One of the most effective has been to promote “climate solutions” that are actually, and only, PR solutions for the industry itself, like carbon capture and plastics recycling. At the same time, the transition to a clean energy economy carries burdens and costs that must be distributed in a reparative and equitable way, rather than being imposed upon already overburdened nations and communities through green colonialism, another kind of false solution.
