Climate Action Leadership Program

The Climate Action Leadership Program (CALP) is the Climate Museum's youth-focused volunteer, education, and climate action program for high school students passionate about advancing a livable, just, climate-safe future. CALP members are 9-12th graders who are seeking pathways into climate engagement (no previous climate experience required and climate beginners warmly welcomed). Flexible time commitment.

As a member of CALP you will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain climate leadership skills through workshops about climate arts, justice, communications, and advocacy.

  • Collaborate with other teens who share your passion for climate action and climate justice.

  • Speak up about your climate priorities, thoughts about climate justice, and ideas for collective action.

  • Boost outreach for Climate Museum programs and events as ambassadors.

  • Advance climate action campaigns in your own community.

  • Volunteer at the exhibition or at public events at the Museum's pop-up in Soho.

  • Receive the CALP newsletter, which spotlights Climate Museum programs as well as scholarships, youth development and cultural opportunities, and internships at NYC partner organizations.

“I am grateful to the Museum for enabling me to use my voice to fight the biggest issue confronting my generation: inaction against climate change. We need more climate arts programming for young people to not only educate and empower my generation, but also to activate others to stand by us and take action.”
