At this event, award-winning author, journalist, and cultural commentator Lawrence Weschler led a conversation with artist David Opdyke about his latest epic postcard mural, Someday, all this, which possesses a strong focus on migration and was on view during the talk. Having written the commentary for the beautiful book on Opdyke’s earlier mural, This Land (2019), Weschler was uniquely positioned to explore the evolution of Opdyke’s artistic call to action. Of their collaboration, Naomi Klein wrote, “David Opdyke’s mural, paired with Lawrence Weschler’s lively commentary, is a masterclass in looking closely at the climate crisis—in all its absurdity and horror, its complexities and transformative potential.” The conversation was followed by audience Q&A and a free reception with wine and refreshments.
